The most important thing for the Silvia is a worthy grinder. Sure, you can get your coffee preground at the coffee shop but you are truly missing the full experience of the best possible espresso; by grinding it just before you brew it! In a perfect World you would buy a Rancilio Rocky grinder when you buy the Silvia.
You basically need to spend another 900 to take the next step up from the Silvia in home espresso machines, to lightcommercial machines like the Pasquini Livia, Isomac, Wega, Exobar, La Marzocco, etc. So I hate to say it, but 600 for the Miss Silvia is a good deal!

Rancilio Silvia, well secret of this machine is to match it with a good grinder, make sure you backflush it regularly and use fresh beans with it and the coffee is fantastic great crema and it really takes you back to truly manual coffee. It is always worth the effort when you can pull a lovely espresso.

Well, folks were saying that you needed some pretty fancy and very expensive grinders. The old whirly gig blade grinder would cut it.
